Allu Arjun



Allu Arjun (This is a Telugu name, where the family name is Allu), (born 8 April 1983) is an Indian film actor who has worked in Telugu cinema. Coming from a family long associated with Telugu cinema, Allu Arjun is the son of producer Allu Aravind and grandson of legendary Telugu comedian Padmasri awardee late Allu Ramalingaiah whilst other notable relatives include uncles Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan, and cousin Ram Charan Teja.He's married to Sneha Reddy on March 6,2011.
Known for his films which target the family audience, Allu Arjun has won major credits including Filmfare and Nandi Awards for his acting. Allu Arjun's debuted in K. Raghavendra Rao's Gangotri (2003) and then played the lead role in the 2004 romance film Arya, portraying a student pursuing a "one-sided love" on the female lead. Whilst his initial films established his fanbase, more recent roles including that in Arya 2, a sequel to his 2004 hit, focussed on Allu Arjun's stylish avatar whilst in the recent success Vedam, Allu Arjun appeared in a character role as one of the five leads. All his films have been dubbed in Malayalam making him very popular there and some also have been dubbed in Tamil.


Career


Early career
Allu Arjun was born in Hyderabad, India. His first lead role was in Gangotri, directed by K.Raghavendra Rao.His second role was in Arya, released in 2004, which became a Huge success at the box office.It was the role that first made Allu Arjun a common name among youths.
In 2005, his third film Bunny was released.It was a decent hit. He had a hatrick of hits. His fourth film Happy which was released in 2006 and directed by karunakaran, had a Average run at Box Office.The film did, however, manage to make a decent profit in the Indian movie screens in U.S.

Success: 2007 - present
In 2007, his fifth film, Desamuduru, directed by Puri Jagannadh, proved to be a box office hit and the first hit of the year in Tollywood. The movie grossed 12.58 crores in the first week of its release and he became the first tollywood hero to sport a six pack . In the same year, he also made a guest appearance in his uncle Chiranjeevi's film, Shankar Dada Zindabad.
In May 2008, his sixth film Parugu, directed by Bhaskar, was released.All of Allu Arjun's movies have been translated and dubbed into Malayalam. Desamudrudu was renamed Hero and Parugu was renamed Krishna and Gangotri was renamed Simhakutty(lioncub). This made him accessible to audiences in the state of Kerala, where he has been well-received.
For 2009, Arjun had only one release, Arya 2, which had the same story line of the 2004 hit film Arya, which also starred Arjun in the lead role. The film was directed by Sukumar who directed the first film. Kajal Agarwal, Navdeep, and Shraddha Das co-star with Arjun in Arya 2.Though released in political crisis,the movie was able to earn an amount of 33 crores at the box-office..Despite mixed reviews in the beginning, arya 2 was accepted as a critical success and it featured in the nominations of the Best Movie category in every major awards function in the Telugu Film industry.He then did a big budget movie named Varudu directed by Gunasekhar which was released in 2010 and it was an average film both critically and commercially. After Varudu, he did an all-star feature, Vedam with Manchu Manoj and actress Anushka Shetty, directed by Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi (known for his famous film, Gamyam). He delivered his career best action in Vedam. Vedam was critically praised the movie and also well received by the general audience. It has also been heard that his upcoming movie "Badhrinaadh" will be releasing on March 27, 2011.
Geetha Arts, the production banner owned by his father Allu Aravind, is producing a mega budget movie titled Badhrinaadh. It is directed by V V Vinayak and will be acting along with Tamannaah . The estimated budget of the movie is Rs 35 crores. The shooting of the movie begun in July 2010.
